ArtAlgo is a creative computing research and design project that explores how youth learn computational thinking through art-making, algorithmic play, and human-centered AI support. Built on p5.js, ArtAlgo combines coding, visual design, and interactive experimentation to help learners create expressive digital artworks while engaging with core computational ideas such as patterns, algorithms, and debugging.
The project emphasizes constructionist learning, participatory design, and ethical AI use, positioning AI as a supportive design partner rather than an answer-giver. ArtAlgo is used in workshops, classrooms, and informal learning spaces to study creativity, agency, and human–AI interaction, while expanding access to creative computing for diverse learners.
